AC Repair questions
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Common causes are a failed capacitor, a dirty outdoor coil, a clogged filter, or low refrigerant from a leak. Check the filter and make sure the outdoor unit is running. If it isn't, turn the AC off and call us.
Why is there ice on my AC lines?
Ice usually means low airflow or low refrigerant. Turn the AC off and let it thaw, or run the fan only. Running it while frozen can damage the compressor.
How long does central AC last?
Most last about 10 to 15 years. Units that get cleaned and checked every year tend to last longer.
Can you add AC to an older house with no ductwork?
Yes. Ductless mini splits are usually the easiest way. They need a small hole through the wall, not new ducts.
